Arike Ogunbowale is an NBA player in the Dallas Wings, a team within the Women's National Basketball Association. Her name was chosen as the 5th selection overall during the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale was born on the 2nd of March 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26 year old brother and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years old. The youngest sibling, she got the attention of her parents. Gregory's father was part of the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale hails from a dynamic family. Her mother Yolanda played softball at DePaul and her brother Dare plays football. Her cousin Endia Olive is also a volleyball player in Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was on the Honor Roll of her school for 3 years straight. The school also recognized her for her accomplishments in high school, including various awards. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is located in Arike's hometown. While studying at the school, she also participated in three seasons of varsity football. Ogunbowale steered her school in a series of stunning wins with her extraordinary skills numerous times. With 73 high-school starts during her professional career, Ogunbowale has 1,477 points with 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale took gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, 2013 FIBA U17 World Championship, and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. This year's USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team was announced on 7th July 2014. Ogunbowale, who is in her first collegiate seasons, was named one of the ACC All-Freshman Team. Kobe Bryant congratulated her after hitting several big shots at the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale is a promising basketball player that has proved to be a great star.
