Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. The role she played earned her an Emmy nomination in the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. In addition, she was awarded two SAG Awards, both for exceptional performances in an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Jenna was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna's mom Anne used to perform in church dramas when she was younger This sparked her passion for theater.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons to Be Happy was written and directed Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist comedy starring Greg Germanyn as well as Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's world premiere.
The cast of the show, including Angela Kinsey (the cast mate of Fischer) and her best friend in real life Angela Kinsey of The Office, started a podcast back in October. The show was called Office Ladies. The show is now extremely well-known and is now in the Top Ten every single week. Its debut year, the show received over 200 million downloads. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year in January 2021.
She's the author of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey), in which her story of moving from St. Louis to Hollywood as a professional actress is outlined. The Office BFF's : The Tales of The Office by Two Best Friends They Were There as well a personal memoir about Angela and herself and their friendship while working on The Office.
